LEGENDS THE MUSICAL

A MODERN AND CULTURAL OPERATIC PRODUCTION ON FIVE LEGENDARY AFRICAN ICONS AND CULTURES

In this highly entertaining African opera, the earth is besieged by an evil, the “Shadow”. From East to West, to North and to the South, it is enslaving mankind, destroying Kingdoms and usurping powers. No one could stop it. Of course no one knows what it looks like.

In fear, the people of the earth raise their voices to the sky, calling for the help of THE LEGENDS, men and women who have long walked the earth before, men and women long forgotten. And so five Legends decide to hearken to the call of man – Sango, God of Thunder, Shaka of Zulu, Nana Yaa Asantewa of Asante Kingdom, Queen Amina of Zazzau and, Queen Nefertiti of Egypt – powerful Lords and Rulers in their time. With each of them having distinctive qualities, defeating The Shadow is going to be easy. But what they do not know is that the enemy is stronger than any individual might.

On earth is the priestess, one who comes form a lineage of priestesses and whose purpose is wait and usher in the Legends when they come. Priestess is a modern day time and her boyfriend Pete, who believes the story of Legends coming is all myth, a superstition. We see the clash of timeline, cultures and norms as the Legends meet Priestess and Pete.

Legends the Musical is not just a journey by Legends to save our world; it is a journey of self-discovery as our heroes realize that overcoming the enemy is not by brute and force; some enemies are mere shadows of ourselves.
